Terms of service

By creating a HoodCert Log account you agree to these terms. If you sign up for a company, you agree on its behalf.

The service

HoodCert Log is a recordkeeping tool for kitchen exhaust cleaning visits, sticker dates, deficiencies, and next due dates. It does not clean or inspect a system, certify compliance with NFPA 96 or any local code, replace qualified professional judgment, or guarantee that a report meets the requirements of an authority having jurisdiction or an insurer. The cleaning frequencies it suggests are defaults you can change; your company remains responsible for its work, reports, schedules, safety procedures, and required records.

Your account

• Keep your password and report links private. You're responsible for activity under your account.
• The company owner controls team access and can disable users.
• Enter customer information only when your company is allowed to store and share it.
• Do not attempt to break in, overload the service, or access another company's records.

Plans and billing

• Plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled.
• You can cancel through the Billing page. Paid features continue until the end of the paid period, and we do not give partial refunds.
• If a subscription lapses, records remain stored, but higher-plan roles and limits may stop working until the subscription is restored.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email.

Your data

Your company's records belong to your company. Accessible records can be exported as CSV. See the privacy policy for what we store.

Availability and liability

We work to keep HoodCert Log available but cannot promise uninterrupted service. Keep any backup records your contracts or code obligations require. The service is provided "as is". To the extent allowed by law, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms and will email account owners about material changes. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
